PhD Topic: Climate change, sea level rise and risk of inundatio of high intertidal areas

Brief description:

The main question of this thesis is “How will the Sado estuary evolve in response to the projected sea-level rise?”. In order to answer that it is necessary (1) to understand the behavior of salt marshes in the last century; (2) to characterize the spatial variation in sedimentation rates within an estuary; and (3) to model response scenarios of estuarine marshes to sea-level rise projected until the end of the 21st century.
